Growing up in Boulder, Colorado I was introduced to running at a very young age. From weekly community runs getting pushed in a stroller as a baby to running the world-famous Bolder Boulder every year since I was six, running was all around me. It wasn't until middle school that I realized I have a talent for the sport, ending my eighth-grade year with a 5:10 mile. Growing up I played a wide variety of sports. But none compares to the sport of running. Running is the most mentally and physically demanding sport by far. No one can help you or do it for you. No one can throw you a pass, make you a save, give you a block, etc. Only you decide the amount of work you want to put in. That's why I love it, my work ethic is what separates me. For example, last year during COVID I would wake up at 5 am to go to hockey practice for two hours, go to school for six hours, play football for two hours, and finally end my night with some homework. All while maintaining academic honor roll. Athletically and academically I have the background of being a leader from being my hockey team's assistant captain to being the next senior class vice president. Therefore, I would make a great candidate for your team because I'm confident in bringing my full effort to both the track and to the classroom each and every day.
