My name is Carter Bergeron, and I am a Cross Country / Track runner at Cheyenne Mountain High School in Colorado Springs. I specialize in mid-distance events such as the 800m and 1600m. I started running my freshman year, and since then I can't picture where my life might be without it. I've gradually improved since then; coming all the way from a 19:45 5k at sea level as a 9th grader, to a 16:17 5k at 5500 feet of elevation as a 12th grader. Something about me that stands out is how well I've managed to stay injury-free for the entirety of my running career while still consistently improving my performance over the years. I work in the Athletic Training room for up to 10 hours each week, and I have a solid understanding of nutrition, weight training, hurdle mobility, rope stretches, core strengthening exercises, as well as how to heal my body before and after hard workouts. I strongly believe that I will be a valuable asset to any program, no matter the division, or competition level.
