I've always been an athletic kid since I moved to Colorado. I began throwing shotput and discus during my freshman year in high school. I have put a lot of hard work and dedication into track and field since, and it has helped me grow into the athlete that I knew I could be. I know that with the time and effort I place into training that I'll make it to the collegiate level and will be successful. All of my coaches express how easy I am to coach, how easily I can learn and understand something new and they enjoy that piece of my personality.
I have a job at a local cafe down the street from my house where I spend most of my weekends bussing tables and greeting customers at the door. As of recent I have been serving tables during weekend hours. My coworkers and managers tell me that they believe that I always come in with a positive attitude, always ready to get to work.
When I go to college next year, I will work to be successful in all of the things that I do: Track and field, academics, jobs and careers, etc. I always strive to be the hardest worker in the room, and push myself to be better every day. I have the heart, and perseverance that makes up so many great athletes today. Leadership is important to any team, that's why the head track coach at my high school asked me to participate in the athletic leadership committee for my junior year, and has asked me to do so again for senior year.
After graduating college I aspire to work at Lockheed Martin, where I would like to be an aerospace engineer. I have always wanted to work for a company that creates tools to help the world on the new frontier, that being space. I am deeply interested in working on programs that would help astronauts walk on Mars someday.
