I am a track and cross-country athlete from Ridgway, a small town in Western Colorado. In order to have a complete team for running sports we have to combine with Ouray and Silverton, small towns in our area. This process has provided me with a unique opportunity that has allowed me to meet amazing people, who I've built strong bonds with by sharing competition and training. I look forward to continuing to grow and learn with my teammates. I love running and I have many running-related goals that I look forward to achieving. First, my dream is to be a member of a college team, where I can represent a team and my school. Second, I want to compete as a runner at an NCAA championship level. Lastly, I have the goal to use my love for running to help me get an education, meet other passionate athletes, and gain experiences that would otherwise not be available to me. I love running not just for the competition, or awards but also because of how it makes me feel free. That special feeling after a tough race or even a fall, when you're lying there exhausted and someone you never met is there to help you up, or shake your hand, or commiserate with is something that I love about running and something I hope I can experience at the next level of competition.
