I have always been a competitive natured person, striving to win every soccer game I could and competing in many regional and national dance competitions. As I realized how fast I could run, I began to look into other sports. I was first officially introduced to track during my freshman year. I was very fortunate to have great teammates and coaches that continued to support and encourage me, pushing me to excel in numerous different events. That same first outdoor season, our 4x1 team made it to states; with me as its third leg runner, I received a taste of what track could offer me, and me to track. That year, I learned both how to compete as a team, but also how to work as an individual on that team, dedicating myself to shaving off as many tenths of a second that I could and to push myself to further heights.
Indoor track season of my sophomore year had its ups and downs. I was recommended to do the 55 and 200 with my peers. We made it to the CIAC class M Championship Meet and took 3rd as a team. I was becoming more and more passionate about the sport and then everything came to a halt as that very day we made the class M championship, I fractured my fibula training for soccer and was soon rushing in for surgery. I was no longer able to participate in the spring outdoor season. But, days turned into weeks, which turned into months and I worked harder than ever to get back on the track. I was more determined than ever. I set a goal to become stronger than I was before my injury, to set new PR's for all my events in the seasons to come. I believe that I fit into a college that challenges me both academically as well as athletically, as I value work-ethic over everything. My commitment and drive to improve makes me a great fit for your team!
