My name is Alex Ushchak. I am a junior at Xavier High School, Middletown, CT and I run Cross Country as well as Track. I have been told that I am a very coachable athlete, due to my dedication and desire for the sport. After playing soccer in the fall of my freshman year, I started running Indoor Track. I enjoyed running track so much, that I chose to forego my soccer interests and pursue running full time. Since that first season freshman year, I have become a competitive Cross Country and Track athlete. While balancing a workload of Honors and AP classes, I have been able to improve my times from a 4:55 1600m, 11:45 3200m freshman year, to a 4:26 1600m and a 9:47 3200m by the end of my sophomore season. I would say my major goals at this time, are to continue to excel in both my academics and my athletics. With the help of my superior coaching staff, and my family support system, I am confident that I would be a strong addition to any school/team.
