Since I was little, I’ve been called the fast kid. The kid expected to win the foot race, the kid relied on to skate back and stop the breakaway, the kid asked to steal home the second the ball left the pitcher’s hands. As a freshman in high school, I decided to make the most out of my speed and compete in track. I was hooked. It’s now my passion to run at the collegiate level. I love the competitiveness with others and myself - that’s what drives me. I’m a dedicated, confident, self-motivated and coachable athlete. I perform well under pressure, work hard at every practice and train outside of the season. I’m at the track, at the gym and entering competitions, such as the Junior Olympics. In the classroom, it’s important to me to balance my academics with track and I work hard to maintain a good GPA. Personally, I’m a social, loyal, trustworthy and thoughtful person with a great group of friends in and out of sports. I participate in my high school Key Club and volunteer at a local homeless shelter serving meals though my church. I want to attend a college that has a variety of potential majors and allows me to compete at the highest level possible. I’m interested in being part of a track program where my coaches and teammates are approachable, supportive and challenge me to take it to the next level.
