My name is Oliver Spiva and I am a member of Washington Latin PCS’s class of 2020. By the end of my high school career I aim to run under 1:55 in the 800 meters and under 4:20 in the 1600 meters.
Alongside athletic excellence, I hold myself to the most rigorous academic standards. Earning the highest possible GPA since freshman year in honors and AP classes. On top of the challenging course load, I have never failed to earn high honor roll and I’ve earned my school’s academic achievement award three times since I entered Latin in 6th grade.
I have earned seven all-conference and seven all-state recognitions through my sophomore year. I have dropped 35 seconds in the 1600, and 17 seconds in the 800 since I began running. I started running the 5k in around 20 minutes and in my most recent time trial, I ran 16:50. I have worked incredibly hard to get where I am and do not plan to stop. I have never missed a day of practice throughout all my time at Latin.
I intend to carry the aforementioned habits into college and I would be lucky to work for any coach who believes in me.
