Personal Statement

I am a natural leader. I hold myself to a higher standard of performance so I will always give everything I have. I work well with others but I am also not afraid to speak my mind. I'm a good student in the classroom, I always pay attention and try my hardest even when I am confused. I won't back down from a challenge and I am very competitive. I am not one to give up when things get tough. I can manage many different things going on in my life and can still perform at the height of my ability. My goals in college is to enhance my running abilities and to experience different things, including trying my hand at the Steeplechase. During the college career I want to drop a lot of time off of my 5K during XC season. I want to be able to run low 15's by the time I reach my sophomore year of college. I also wish to be able to run under 9 minutes for the 3200m race during track season. And finally, I am very intrigued by the complex aspect of the Steeplechase including speed, obstacles and endurance.

I aspire to be someone that my teammates can come to for help and guidance, and be somebody that my coaches can trust when they need someone.

  • AwardsI am enrolled in Estero High School's AICE/Cambridge Scholastic Program. The AICE Diploma is an internationally recognized diploma awarded for the satisfactory completion of a series of academically rigorous courses specific to AICE in high school. The AICE program is also described as an acceleration mechanism, meaning it gets you ready for hard college classes at a more rapid pace than traditional coursework. As with the AP and IB programs, AICE involves studying college-level material before you even graduate high school.
