Hi, My name is Lawson Chaponda Castillo I go to school at NeoCity Academy but run Track and field at Gateway High school in Kissimmee Florida. I started Track and Field in my sophomore year of high school even though I got to start Track in my eighth grade but did not get to finish because that was the year of covid. I went to one meet and immediately fell in love with Track and field I enjoyed it and wanted to keep doing it unfortunately because of covid I did not get to finish my season and I couldn't run my freshman year because of an injury. But I came back to Track and Field in my sophomore year and have been doing it ever since and loving it which is why I want to run in college to continue what I enjoy. I know it wont be easy but I am dedicated to putting work and time to improve myself. I also have a passion for aerospace ever since I was a little kid traveling the world and is why I want to become an aerospace engineer to change the world one step at a time. Leadership is one of my best skills because I am currently the captain of my Track and Field team and former Senior Patrol Leader in my troop for the Boy Scouts and with those experiences I have learned skills like problem solving, communication, time management, and responsibility and those would be the skills I can bring to your college.
Thank you,
Lawson Chaponda
