I am a 5'11" 150lb Pole Vaulter/400m dash runner at Lake Placid high school in Lake Placid, FL. I have a 2.8 overall high school GPA. I run a 59.6 400m dash as of last track season 2018 and jumped 10'10" at Regionals 2019 for Pole Vaulting. I placed 2nd in the 2019 Districts for pole vaulting with a height of 10'4"At the 2019 Districts I snapped my pole going up to 10'10" and still managed to get 2nd place. I was left 2 weeks to source a new pole and train with it for Regionals. In that time I had to adapt my steps and learn to overcome my fear of snapping another pole. At Regionals I manged to set a new PR and get 7th place. Getting a college scholarship for men's track and field is goal of mine and a goal I hope to achieve. I am determined and do not give up easily when faced with a seemingly impossible task. I try to do anything in my power to achieve my goals. When I am in my off-season routine I workout to improve my upper body and core strength to improve my technique and form in pole vaulting. I would like to go to a school where I can be able to do my sport and academics in good balance. I would also like the school to have great school spirit with an amazing atmosphere.
