As a collegiate runner, I would want to set a good example for runners/athletes in my community to show how a strong work ethic can go a long way. With this work ethic, I aspire to further improve on my 400m time with the opportunities said improvements may bring into my athletic career. In furthering my athletic career at a collegiate level, I would be one of the few athletes in my family to play sports at that level.
I believe my determination, strong work ethic, flexibility, and optimistic attitude makes me a good candidate for a collegiate Track and Field team. I also believe that these attributes contribute immensely to a greater & stronger team.
Aside from my attributes, I play soccer and run cross-country in addition to track and field. Academically, I am a student in the International Baccalaureate program which is one of the most rigorous academic programs recognized internationally. The rigor within this program has contributed immensely the growth of my strong work ethic which I exhibit in and outside of academics. I am also very involved within clubs at my school; I am president of National Honors Society, and of National Spanish Honors Society. Additionally, I am a member of Interact and National English Honors Society.
