I started running track in sixth grade, unfortunately that season was cut short due to Covid. My seventh grade season was enjoyable for me, but it wasn't until my eight grade year that I started excelling at distance running. When I step on a track, I feel like I am exactly where I should be. The better I perform, the harder I want to train, and the better I want to be. By the end of my high school career, I would like to run a sub 4:20 1600m and sub 9:20 for the 3200m. I want to attend a college that pushes me to better these times year after year.
My education is also very important to me. As a freshman, I haven't determined what my field of study will be post high school. I know that I love being outdoors. I stay active during the offseason by mountain biking, running, and weight training. My family and I love to hike in mountains of North Georgia and North Carolina. I am an active member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and also Liberty Baptist Church.
In the fall of my ninth-grade year, I was a dual athlete participating in both football and cross country. Entering into tenth grade, I chose to only run cross country and focus on what I love doing. It would be hard for me to say what my favorite season is. I look forward to cross country and track equally. I enjoy being a part of a team that teaches lessons that I will use for the rest of my life. My teammates in every sport inspire me to be a better athlete and a better person. I have been fortunate to have the support of family, friends, coaches, and my church family. Their support means the world to me.
