Hi, my name is Daniel Butler and I run track/cross country. Cross country is my favorite sport and the highlight of every year for me. I began running cross country in 7th grade after one of my friends suggested I try it. I didn’t even know that cross country existed up until that point. At first it was just another way for me to spend more time with my friends and to have fun, but overtime I fell in love with it more and more until it became my favorite thing. I love everything about cross country; the running, the competition, the weather and the awesome teams it produces. Through cross country I found that hard work really does pay off and that great things can be accomplished when you really put some effort into it.
In college, I want to major in something that will prepare me to either be an athletic trainer or physical therapist. When one of my teammates get injured, I always like to help them find out what’s wrong and help them heal by taping them or other stuff. I also want to be involved in sports after college, so I feel like this career would be a perfect fit for me.
I feel I have good qualities that will help me in college track/cross country like my dedication and ability to push through even when the going gets rough. When I set my mind on something, I focus all my energy on it until I accomplish it. I am an easy going person who is very easy to get along with. I have good leadership skills, but still know how to have fun. I feel that these qualities sum me up as a person and are why I would make a great addition to a team. I I look forward to seeing what becomes of me and I hope you do too!
