I just started track my freshman year. I immediately started making an impact by not only being a good athlete, but also a good leader. My sophomore year I was made team captain. As such, I got to choose events for myself and my team. When weather was bad or teammates wanted to give up, it was up to me to encourage and motivate. I liked the other students and the coaches appreciating me for not just what I could do in the lanes, but for the team as well. I was often noticed by other high school coaches and asked what other sports I played because they didn't want to compete against me!
