My first year competing in track, I medaled at IESA State Track Meet placing 6th in the 4x200 and 8th in the 4x400. This has given me the drive to become a state champion. My freshman and sophomore year is where I feel I grew the most in track. Meeting new teammates who are now some of my closest friends, and taking home ribbons and medals from invitational meets are some of my most memorable high school moments to date. However, not qualifying for the state these past two years has made me more determined then ever to be the type of athlete I want to be and hopefully what you are looking for in a college athlete.
Currently, my track program isn't where it should be as far as people doing the sport; we do not have a track to practice on, we dont have a conference meet in the season, and it does not represent the number of athletes in my school and what my school's athletes are capable of. That is what I want to change. Through e-mails and personal letters, I have already started to influence many of my classmates and incoming Freshman to expand our program a be part of our track family. My collegiate track goal is to be NCAA Champion. I believe through hard work and faith, anything is possible. I desire to be on a college team where I can push my teammates to be better and they push me back. Ultimately, I want to be the best student athlete I can be. I'm someone who is coach-able, taking others advice and applying it to my skills. As a three sport athlete, I believe that I have the talent, ability, commitment, and work ethic to get me to my goals.
