Mason Downey '26 Recruiting Profile

My name is Mason Downey, class of 2026 and I throw for Huntington North Hugh School, I started Field Throwing with Shotput and discus in 8th grade 2022 and realized after a wile I was incredibly good at it and went on to win conference for shotput undefeated the entire year. My goals are to go to a division 1 school but am open to all division offers along with winning many competitions and working hard to achieve that in college. I am very different from other athletes that do throwing I love to work on it on my own time and improve outside of the sport in the gym pushing myself and even watch hours on end about shotput techniques and Olympic throwers along with watching division 1 meets. I have good grades most the time as I have only ever gotten a Final grade of a C but am higher than that in most of my classes at an A or B.
