Track and Field has always been my passion. When Covid shut schools down and ended my first year of competitive sport, I realized that I was losing muscle mass, speed, and endurance, so I continued to train at home. My mantra since then has been “Stay ready, so you don’t have get ready”. This has proved to be beneficial to my overall work ethic. While others were making Tik-Toks, I was lifting weights, pounding the treadmill, and sculpting my body with sit-ups and push-ups. This daily regimen and positive mindset, helped me to gain a spot on the varsity track team and become a factor in helping my team win a conference and sectional title.
As an honor student, I have goals of attending college and gaining a degree in engineering or environmental science. I want to be a part of a college program that will allow me to grow academically, mentally, and physically. I believe I have more room to grow and I’m looking for a coaching program that will challenge me to reach my highest potential.
What sets me apart from other candidates is my drive to succeed. This past summer, I got a part-time job to earn extra money. The extra money was not for clothes, food, or phones, it was for sessions with a personal trainer. My junior year’s PR in the 400 meter dash was 52.6 and while some may have been impressed, I knew that I needed support in getting faster. My goals for this upcoming year are to graduate with honors, gain a new personal record, help my team earn another conference championship, qualify for state, and be accepted to a competitive track program. So if you're interested, I'm ready; ready to be great.
