Running always has its ups and downs and when I am struggling I always remember "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." I am fortunate to have great parents who always encourage me and better my faith.
My running career first started when I was a 7th grader. I have been running track and cross country ever since. As a freshmen in high school, I set my schools cross country record, and made it to state cross country. I placed 25th and was excited to improve next season. I went to state in track for the 3200m run and placed 13th.
As a sophomore in high school I went to state cross country again and placed 8th. During my sophomore year, I broke my own school record twice and was the back to back wheat state league champion. I also made it to state and placed 8th.
My Junior year I made it to state in cross counrry and placed 9th. I was extremely excited to be able to run track again and was hoping to have some big PRs. I ended up breaking my schools 3200m record and ran a 35 second PR. I also improved my 1600m by 4 seconds. I made it to state track and placed 6th in the 3200m and placed 11th in the 1600m.
I want to continue running after high school because I enjoy the competitive aspect, but thrive on setting personal goals and accomplishing new things in life.
