Self-starter. Motivated. Strong work ethic. These are values that describe me. My name is Elijah Evans, and I am 18 years old. I am a senior at Junction City High School. I have run track as a sprinter since 7th grade, and it is my goal to run track in college. While I love running, I also value my academic journey, having maintained a 3.69 GPA.
I started to have an interest as a runner/sprinter in 7th grade. My PE coach got me encouraged to join the track team and I have loved track ever since. I have run varsity for two years and hope to perform extremely well in my last track season coming March 2022. I have also committed to volunteer and extracurricular activities in my community. I also work part-time and have worked at 4 employers since I was 15 years old.
In the classroom, I am focused on maintaining my 3.7 GPA. Academics are very important to me and I plan to at do my very best at the college or university I attend. I am extremely dedicated to everything I set my mind to. I promise to always give 100% effort and perform to the best of my ability.

VOLUNTEER (4 HOURS) SEPT. 2018 & 2019 MOON’S FARM TURNIP FIELDS Junction City, KS • I picked over 10 trash bags of turnip greens over 4 days to deliver to the elderly senior citizens of Junction City, KS before the end of the farm season. VOLUNTEER (10 HOURS) 2018- Current NEIGHBORS IN THE JUNCTION CITY COMMUNITY Junction City, KS • Assist the elderly on my block with trash, yard work, grass-cutting, and other small jobs as requested. VOLUNTEER (6 HOURS) AUG. 2016 – Current JUNCTION CITY BEAUTIFICATION PROJECT Junction City, KS • Volunteer with the Junction City Beautification Project with Vice Mayor Phyllis Fitzgerald. On select Saturdays, we meet at different places in the JC community and pick up trash, clean flower beds, and more. VOLUNTEER (100 HOURS) JUNE 2015 – Current JUNCTION CITY JUNETEENTH COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION Junction City, KS • Volunteer to run the Kids Zone each year throughout the day-long festival. Recruit HS volunteers to participate. Assist with ordering equipment and supplies for the entire Kids area and provide a safe spot for the children. Set up, tear down and cleanup of Heritage Park. VOLUNTEER (50 HOURS) 2008 – 2012 PROJECT UPLIFT Kansas City, MO • I participated with my church, Centers for Spiritual Living, in our Community Outreach ministry where my Mom was the Executive Director. Every second Saturday, we volunteered at the Project Uplift warehouse packing the dog and cat food for homeless animals and folded socks for delivery to clients.
