Hello Coaches,
I was first introduced to running in my lower school PE class when my class had to run the mile. This was the first time that I realized I had the potential to be a good runner which prompted me to start running competitively on the cross country and track team once I got to middle school. Ever since my competitive running career started, I have wanted to be a college athlete. Once I got to high school, I stopped playing other sports in order to focus on running and achieving my long-term goals in the sport.
This season, I hope to run under 4:20 in the 1600m and under 9:30 in the 3200m. I am also hoping to be competitive for a state title in both of those events. As a college runner, I want to be a part of a program that has a group of competitive, hard-working, dedicated guys who are all working towards the same goals and pushing each other every day. I also want to run for a program that pushes me to become the best runner that I can be.
In the classroom, I currently hold a 4.0 GPA, and I believe that I am ready for the challenge of successfully balancing school and sports as a college student-athlete. I am also involved in a program called Leadership Academy through my school. With this program, I am learning a lot about being a good leader, and I know that what I am learning can translate into being a good team leader at any running program. I promise that I will always be the hardest worker on any team that I am a part of. I seek to lead by example and be a motivator for my teammates and peers.
Thank you all for your time.
