My name is Ivan Appleton. I started competitive Track when I ran my first meet in 6th grade. I have fallen in love with the competition track and cross country provide, as well as the dedication they demand. I an captain of my track and cross country teams, and have been since junior year. In the classroom, I strive for excellence in every way that I can, ranking 1st in my class out of 142 students. I believe I have a lot of potential to improve at the collegiate level, and I really want to unlock this hidden talent. I believe this, paired with my passion for running and my academics, make me a good candidate to run at the next level.

- ActivitiesI started an environmental conservation organization called Cleaner Southwest Louisiana (Cleaner SWLA) in order to help raise awareness about litter and coordinate cleanups with my community. Cleaner SWLA has raised $1,140 for the Louisiana Wildlife Federation, a charity dedicated to restoring Louisiana and preserving its natural resources. We have appeared on local news stations as well; I am an active ambassador for my school; I started a club for future healthcare professionals at my school in 2019.
