2023 HighlightsPersonal Statement
My name is Sam Kim. I am a 17 year old boy from Cumberland Maine who graduates in 2024. I began track my Junior year of high school with the intent to help with my soccer endurance. I soon realized I loved this sport and wanted to pursue it at the collegiate level. I began watching track meets on T.V, and studying form, speed, and the human anatomy to optimize my performance. My very first race I ran a 25.96 second 200m dash during the indoor season. My second to last 200m race for the outdoor season, I ran a 23.55 winning the Western Maine Conference. My last race (states) I ran a 25.46 with lyme disease. In 4 months I dropped my time 2.41 seconds. This coming indoor season I hope to reach sub 23.
