I started lacrosse in fifth grade. My dad played club lacrosse in college and he thoroughly enjoyed it. My dad made lifelong friends by playing on that team, and they all meet up every year for the NCAA championship games. He never pressured me into playing lacrosse it was my choice, and looking back on it I wish he pushed me to start sooner, but at the same time, I'm glad it was my choice. I've always been the type of kid who needed to be playing a sport. I am just a happier person when I am out there on the field playing with people who have become like a family to me. During my Freshman year, I was on the varsity team which I was nervous about because I felt intimidated by the upperclassmen. All my nerves went away after my first practice. Immediately I knew I wasn't a part of a team, I was part of a family. There were no problems and we all got along so well. We even had the best season in the past 20 years for my school. Each year I find something new about lacrosse that makes me love it even more. I've found that my personal problems go away when I touch the field. I no longer have to worry about the stress of school or my parents. Lacrosse is my passion, and most of the time it is what gets me through the day. I want to be able to play as long as I can. Playing in college is a dream for me, and I hope that it comes true. Thank you for taking a minute to look at me as not only a player but a person.
