My name is Kyle Tribble and I am a senior student at the Park School in Baltimore County, Maryland. I just completed my fourth year of cross-country running (my third as a varsity runner), and am proud to be my team's captain. I finished this season 4th in my conference at the MIAA champsionship race with a PR of 17:13. Prior to high school, I participated in various sports, including wrestling, lacrosse, and soccer. I originally intended to run track in highschool, but due to a lack of a track team, I decided to try out for the cross country team my freshman year. I wasn't sure of how I would handle long distance running. I loved it from the start. XC has been the first sport I've really loved and stuck with, and I've been commited to running for the past three yearas.
After transferring from the Boy's Latin School to the Park School for my sophomore year, I tried out once again for the XC team and gained a spot on the varsity squad. With my new found experience in the sport, my times rapidly improved, and by the end of the season I was the second fastest runner on the team. Unfortunately, during my summer training program before my junior year, I suffered a fracture in my right leg. I had to completely stop summer training and I was not able to attend pre-season trianing with my team. I worked my way back to running by starting with long walks and using eliptical and bike machines, moving to combination run/walks, then short runs. I missed the first race of the season, but was determined to get back in shape. After about three weeks of missing the XC season, I was able to participate, running at what felt like 70% of my usual pace. As my physical condition improved, my times improved consistently with each race. I finished two races towards the end of the season in first place and received an All-Conference title at the MIAA B Championships and 4th Place in my conference with a PR of 17:46.
In and outside of school I'm all about music. I sing, write, and play guitar for a band, I've taken various audio production and performance classes, and have set up a small studio/work station in my basement for production and recording work. I also enjoy creative writing and poetry, and have dozens of esays and stories saved. I don't have a pre-conceived notion about a particular type of school I should attend. I feel that would cause me to overlook some schools that could be a great fit for me. I am open to exploring all types of institutions. I would love to run, though I realize I will need to do a lot of training to transition to collegiate level athletics. Ultimately, I want to be a part of a team where I can make an impact.
I thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I hope you will consider me as a possible candidate for your team. I can guarantee that I will work hard, both academically and athletically, and that I will be a positive, dedicated member of any team I join.
