My name is Damon Martin, I am currently enroll at Old Mill High school in the state of Maryland. I moved from Virginia my freshman year after finishing my first season of cross country and track at Hickory High school which is also where I went to states for cross country, but unfortunately did not run due to an injury. At the beginning of my running career I did not think I would take it as serious as I do now. I've really grown love for the sport and the competition after I got involved with upperclassmen throughout my Freshmen and Sophomore years. My parents along with the leadership on my new team at Old Mill High instilled a new measure of hard work and determination. As the only member to make it to state my Sophomore year I have made it my goal to personally improve my teammates and myself so that they to can feel the joy and gravity of performing at a State competition. I think I would be a good fit for college teams because of how I can balance my academics and athletics which I have proven throughout my Highschool career. However, academics is what comes first for me. Some goals I have for college are to obtain the highest level of education so that I will be an effective agent and improving running times. I want to reach push myself to my full potential or finding the right college to help me achieve these goals.
