I was drawn to track and field because it is the simplest and purest metric of determination, preparation, and of course, athletic prowess. It gives the athletes the opportunity to showcase not only their speed but also their character. I am infatuated with the idea that with enough training and perseverance, you can continue to improve and reach new heights regardless of natural talent or ability. That is why I consider my most important attribute in track to be my work ethic. A good work ethic is particularly important with track because the intense and arduous training of a college track athlete requires a high degree of resiliency and determination to endure, and a strong work ethic enables me to accept such hardships in order to grow as an athlete. I know that you only get out of something as much as you put in and I apply that to my track career, giving 100% effort in order to maximize self-improvement and also team performance. I hope to continue my track career into college where I will be able to further push myself and improve both physically and academically.
