Hi my name is Jay Joyce, and I am a junior at Marshfield High School. I have run Cross Country and Track since middle school, but did not become serious with it until I made the decision to run Cross Country instead of playing soccer sophomore year. Ever since I have been more than happy with my decision, and know this is the sport I love and want to continue to do. In the winter of my sophomore year I was fortunate enough to be named All-Scholastic with my 4x800 that qualified for Nationals. I have also competed in the All States and in the EMass State Championships. I had plans for a big outdoor season sophomore year, but due to COVID-19, my season was canceled. This motivated me to work hard during our time off to come back and have an explosive Cross Country season. I have had great success so far this season, but know I am capable of so much more. In my opinion what got me to where I am at with this sport today is my dedication and work ethic. Even when it seemed like there would not be another race for a long time, I continued to work hard and be ready for when I am given the opportunity to compete. Thank you for taking the time to review my profile.
