Over the past 3 years of my high school experience, I have grown to love Track and Field. Many students and athletes at my school push track away because they hate running, or they only do track to get in better shape. I love it. I love the 8-12 hour meets, I love the grueling workouts, I love screaming for my teammates as they run around the track.
I am the kind of athlete you want on your team. I work hard, I encourage my teammates, I lead by example, and I listen to my coaches. I may not be the most incredible runner in the world, but I am a tough athlete and I will always push myself to the next level, whether that be shaving a second off of my 400 time, or running another event to help my team win an important meet. I have fun but when it comes to practice or meets, I always work my hardest.
In addition to my talent on the track, I am a very strong student. I have earned a 4.42 GPA and a 1390 on my SATs. I am a member of the National Honor Society and Century Club, as well as an Honor Role student.
Lastly, I am a coachable athlete. I don't know everything there is to know about running my race, and I'm happy about that, because it means that I can still get better. I am open to advice and suggestions from my coaches, and I want to learn.
This is why you want me on your team. Not because I am a D1 prospect, but because I will give you everything I've got to make myself and the entire team better.
