Thank you for visiting my profile. My name is Austin Mowry and I am a senior. I've been a track athlete for 3 years at the varsity level. Currently, my high jump PR is 6'4", my long jump PR is 20. My 200 meter PR is 23.9. Unfortunately, I had some medical complications related to a tonsillectomy this past spring that knocked me out for the majority of the track season. Despite having lost over 20 pounds, I came back two weeks after my hospitalization to place second at state quals breaking my school's high jump record with a 6'4" jump and moved forward to states. I am very interested in competing at the collegiate level. I have a strong academic background with a GPA of 4.2 out of 5. I'm interested in studying criminal justice, international business, and marketing. I have been involved in the DECA chapter at my school for two years and placed in the top 13 at the state competition in early 2019. Additionally, I have been an advocate for bringing awareness about mental health and suicide prevention to my school by bringing forward the "Find Your Anchor" initiative to my school administration. I have also signed a memorandum of understanding to participate in a local Drug-Free Communities coalition as a youth representative. This coalition serves to bring prevention and education activities to Central Massachusetts communities in an effort to reduce substance use and substance use disorders, particularly among youth. I look forward to talking with you more about the skills and personal qualities I could bring to your team as well as what growth opportunities you could provide for me. Best Regards, Austin Mowry
