I would classify myself as a competitor who likes to push myself to the limits. I also have been committed to regular training both in and out of season and am confident that the training will support achieving the goals I’ve set for the season ahead. While I am eager to continue competing in distance running in college, I take the student part of student-athlete seriously. I am currently interested in pursuing a career in trial science and looking to major in psychology and political science prior to applying to law school.
I began running seriously in 7th grade just using it as a means to stay fit but over time I found a real love for the sport. In high school, I found success and the deep desire to run in college. I feel that the level of competition I saw in high school has made me a strong competitor. I’ve learned how to compete and race at a high level that helps myself and my team find success.I would consider myself a strong leader. I love when my teammates excel in anything and want to lead them to find that success. I have always been determined to find success wherever I can. I want to stand out in whatever I do and that includes at practice during workouts, to competitions, to my school work. My coaches and teammates know they can expect me to give 100% at anything I do. I am highly motivated and determined to continue to improve and be a positive addition to a college team.
This year, I was voted as a captain of my cross country team. My main focus is to develop a sense of unity that will bring the team closer together so the success one person finds is the success the team will find.
