I am a well-rounded athlete. I started playing tennis when I was six years old at a club near my house. I quickly discovered that I really liked the sport. I have been fairly active in sports all of my life, including volleyball, softball, soccer and cross country. In ninth grade, I was one of only two freshmen to make the high school varsity team where I played in various doubles positions throughout the season. My family moved the following summer so I had to adjust to a new school, new friends and a new tennis team. I discovered that I thrive on challenges and change does not scare me. I worked hard and won the No. 1 singles spot on the team as a sophomore. Nearly every opponent was a senior. I have learned that you can never give up and that you learn something from every match.
I am a good team player, encouraging my teammates every chance I get. I have laser focus on the court. I am also dedicated to my studies and have learned how to balance my priorities. I hope to continue playing this sport that I love while I study hard to become the best that I can be in my career after college.
