Hello coaches,
I am a dedicated student-athlete who puts forth his absolute best effort in everything I do from academics to cross training. I am someone who will always do what is told of him, but will also try to make everyone laugh and have an all-round better experience. I work very hard in school to obtain the best grades I possibly can by spending countless hours studying and perfecting all homework that is given. My goal by joining a college level team is to compete at a higher level and become a far better runner, as well as striving to become stronger both mentally and physically. However, in the world of running I am relatively new to the sport. For my entire life I played soccer up until the summer leading into my sophomore year of high school. I always loved to run, and I would run or bike alongside my father while he ran. But soccer was not “doing it for me” anymore, so I decided to quit and join the cross country/track and field team at my high school. This was one of the best choices I have ever made because I loved the sport more than anything I had ever done before. I very soon became addicted to running and started to push myself in ways that I had done before; ever since I joined the cross country I have pushed to be the best runner I possibly can by training year round (yes, even in the harsh Michigan climate) and running in races out of season, and I feel I am getting faster at a very quick rate. I would absolutely love to run in college as I feel that my forte is the longer distance events, as my weekly long runs have proven to be quite fast. While in college I am not for sure on this, but I think I want to study forensics or engineering in the school setting.
