Personal Statement

I am currently a 16 year-old rising senior attending Orono High School in Long Lake, MN and am looking for an opportunity to throw at the NCAA level for shot put, discus, javelin and hammer.  I achieved PR's in the Spring of 2019 of 46'7" in Shot Put, 12.3 in the 100m, and was a State Qualifier for the MN State High School Track and Field meet in discus with a throw of 147' 6".  During the 2019 summer season through AAU and USATF,  I've achieved PR's of 150'4" in Discus along with 19' 2.5" in Long Jump.  I have continued to train with several private coaches throughout the off-season in both shot and discus, and have learned the motion and technique of the javelin at the Stanford University Track and Field Camp sponsored by Nike.  As a 6'0" foot, 195 lb., sixteen-year-old, I have the potential for continued growth and improvement throughout my final high school season and hope to break my high school records in both shot put and discus.  As an Eagle Scout, I realize the drive it takes to be one of the best examples of character, leadership, and perseverance.  As a National Honor Society member, I know what it takes to succeed academically, as well as being a pillar of our high school community.   As a Student Senate member, I have been chosen by my classmates to represent them and their ideas, and I am proud to take on that responsibility.  My goal in college is to continue to strive to be the best I can be, whether at the track, in the ring, in the classroom or representing an NCAA track program.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
