My name is Owen Erickson and I am a senior at Spring Lake Park High School in Minnesota. This year is my 6th year of cross country, 4th year of nordic, and 6th year of track. Currently, I am a captain on both the cross country and nordic teams, and am hopeful I receive it come this spring for track. I believe I possess strong leadership roles, especially leading by example, and seeing as I was also nominated and a part of our schools Sports Leadership Council program. Over the summer, I was putting in consistent 80 mile weeks, running 20 mile long runs, and having workouts range anywhere from hill repeats, track workouts, tempo runs, etc. Amidst my peak mileage, I decided to run an outdoor meet and compete in the 1600, running a pr of 4:36 with no taper. Not only do I possess talent in the sport of running, but also the will and work ethic that goes along with it.
