My name is Connor Dunning, I am a 6'4" 180 lb. senior from Nashua High School North in Nashua, New Hampshire. I started running track in 7th grade as a way to train and stay in shape for basketball, but quickly realized I could compete in the sport and have loved track and field ever since. Track has influenced my life a lot, from my friends to my daily routine, but it has also shown me a lot as to who I am. Last season I jumped my PR of 6'00" in my third meet of my spring season, but soon after suffered from a strained hip flexor that more or less sidelined me for the rest of the season. This injury and the adversity that came with it showed me how important track is to me and put my motivation to the test in the form of how bad I wanted to be back on the track, permanently. This injury showed me I was committed to track and that I wanted to do whatever was needed to be the best I could be. I went to physical therapy for the rest of that season and worked in the weight room all summer and through cross country season to make sure when track came along I'd be stronger and more resistant to injury, so I could help my team compete for a state championship, and to reach my personal goals as well. unfortunately my senior season was cut short and I did not get a chance to try and reach my goals, but I have continued training to prepare for my senior season and get some individual times in the 400.
My academic goals for high school are to continue taking all AP and Honors classes while maintaining at least a 4.6 GPA, I am a member of both the Science and Spanish honor societies. In college my academic goals are to attend a school of high academic standing and pursue a career in biological sciences while running track at the highest level I am capable of.
