I have always been a good student athlete, and I'm aware that my academics will always come before my performance on the track. In college I plan to major in psychology. Post graduation, I want to go into sports psychology, and help athletes post injury, regain their mental status. As an athlete myself I understand the stress and pressure that pushes you down. I want to be able to relieve that stress from other upcoming athletes, so they're capable of performing their best after an injury, or when they're in a slump. Many forget that athletes forget that our bodies and minds need to be in sync to perform at our peaks. I focus in class and try to finish my work in a timely manner. When it comes to track I have not been running for very long. I began my journey my freshman year of high school, and quickly realized the potential I had. I started to become one of the top runners in my county and began having thoughts of continuing this journey into college. My legs are still fresh and young and I'm sure that I will be able to peak at the right time come college. My abilities to excel on the track and in the classroom make me a good student athlete to be part of any college program. Coming to the conclusion of indoor my senior year, I've accumulated many medals and I'm preparing to finish my outdoor season strong. This year I placed 2nd in the 400 at my county meet and also defended my sectional title going back to back. I'm hoping to run 48 in the 400 and around 1:57 in the 800 for my last outdoor season. I'm making meaningful relationships through track and it's really helped me open up within my high school experience. I'm determined to get better and hope I can accomplish a lot during my senior year. At the collegiate level I want to possibly go sub 47 and sub 1:50. Lastly, my teammates would all agree I'm a good leader. I'm fun to be around and always try and make my coaches and teammates laugh however, when it comes to focusing on the workout or drills I make sure I do them with intent. I understand time management is key in college, and being an athlete only makes this process harder. I know I'm ready to take care of myself, my school work, and perform well on the track.
