Hello coaches ever since I could remember I wanted to be a college athlete. Since I was little I always looked up to my cousins. Both my older cousins attended Division I schools for long and triple jump (Monmouth and Hartford university). Ever since they were in high school I've went to every single one of there meets. But from an early age it was noticeable that i was not very athletic like my older cousins. I've played basketball and football in my life but I was always injured from them. My main sports until my sophomore year were basketball and football. But then I started throwing in spring track for my first time ever sophomore year, and I was hooked. My throwing coach at Passaic valley high school (Alfred Capello) is the best coach I’ve ever worked with in any sport. In my first meet ever for discus, I threw absolutely terrible 58’5”. The disappointment of not throwing well really upsetted me and I started practicing ever day, and by the end of the season I was throwing around 120’s.
But overall I was raised by my parents to focus on grades, family, religion, then everything else. Since high school started I had a few deaths in my family and I saw a decent dip in my grades but I’m mentally focused again and ready to get back to work. In my academic career so far I've been nominated for a RYLA internship, 4th grade principals award, and the 8th grade principals award, and honor roll. My collegiate goals are to graduate with at least a 3.5 gpa, and give it my all in the circle, either it’s for discus or shot. My other goal is by my senior year(next year 2020) is to break our school record in the discus throw. Since I’ve decided I’m focusing fully on throwing now I do believe in myself and my ability to do it.
Some personal things about me is I’m a very outgoing funny person who is a little shy at times, and whatever team I’m on they become a part of my family as well in my eyes. I hope this helps you to get to know me a little better and I’m ready to work wherever I decide to go to start lifting and training right away and to help the team as much as possible in anyway I can. When I'm older my goal in life is to become a veterinarian. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this and Thank you again, Sincerely Kyle Kuren.
