When I joined track and field, I had no clue what I'd be getting myself into and there was a lot that I had to learn. I didn't realize just how fast the seniors at the time were until I became a sophomore and that's when I made the decision be faster than they ever were. Running was something I've always enjoyed doing, being the fastest in my grade is just something us boys would do to show our dominance when it came to speed. Highschool T&F taught me a few things though, you learn very quickly that you aren't that fast and you're going to have to put in more work than ever to become the fastest in the county and eventually, states.
Being a team captain this indoor/outdoor season and well into 2020 as well, balancing school and track and field is a pretty difficult feat in its own right. Maintaining my GPA and grades in all of my classes is not an easy task whilst doing sports but it's a challenge I'm willing to accept and overcome. I take 4 honors classes but no APs because I needed a good balance between school and track & field that works for me. By the time I finish my junior year, I want my GPA to be a 3.6 and have a 1400 SAT score. It's very ambitious but hey, what's life without a couple of challenges?
Outside of school and track I'm a fairly social guy and can strike up a conversation every now and then with people I don't even know. I've had a knack for drawing and art. Whenever I have the time to, I enjoy drawing and even animating on my computer. I'd say I'm pretty good at it but I'm never satisfied because I'm eager to make something far better than the last. It's just how I roll.
