When I put my mind to a goal, I see things through, and accomplish it. This aspect of myself has always helped me to manage the extra-curricular things in my life, such as sports, friends, and work, while still keeping up with my academics, and maintaining an honor roll average. I work well on my own, or as part of a team. I seek help, when needed, but often like to solve problems on my own. I contribute to a group, and encourage others to do the same. Sharing ideas leads to well-rounded, thought out solutions. This mindset has made me a consistent leader at school through my honors, AP, and specialized coursework, as well as in sports, where I have been both a Captain and a coach. I am quick to help, and can always be counted on. I always show up, and work hard. I am respectful of my peers, teachers, coaches, and colleagues. I try to always keep an open mind, and love when someone or something makes me think differently, from a new perspective. These are all attributes that I feel will make me an excellent engineer, and collegiate athlete. I look forward to all of the opportunities that college brings to help me grow as a person and a professional. I am pursuing an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, and seek to attend a Division I or II school with a great program and hands-on engineering lab. I would like to continue my track and field career throwing shotput and discus in college. I am also open to learning weight throw and hammer, which are not offered at my high school.
