Charles Napolitano '11 Recruiting Profile

In my 4 years at high school, I can honestly say that running for my school's track team in both the winter and spring seasons has been and is one of the best experiences of my life, and I will never regret choosing this sport. I've always been interested in running, and when I finally got to high school and was able to make a sport out of it, I don't think anything else could have made me happier. When it comes to practice, I'm definitely the first one out there ready to go and the first one on the line whenever we begin a workout. I always push the pace and give the underclassmen a role model to look up to and a teammate to have faith in when we need to work together. Being a captain for just about 3 of my 4 years has really given me countless amounts of information about what it means to lead a team and work together to reach a goal; to push through the hard practices with your teammates just to get to that next level and be that much better and that much more relieved when finished with the workout. In terms of college, I would prefer to stay local to New Jersey, not going much farther than one or two states outwards from here. I intend to major in Chemistry and become a Chemical Engineer and follow my desire to discover the unknown and create with my ingenuity. I would absolutely love to continue my track and field career in college. I've been known to be an extremely flexible runner when it comes to events; I have filled in for jumpers before just because the coaches needed someone to jump. I always look out for the greater good of the team, and not just for myself, putting myself wherever I can be most beneficial to our meet. As of my junior year, I placed 20th in the state for the 110m HH for high school boys, and I managed to qualify for sectionals in the 200m sprint. I am extremely consistent with my times, progressively getting lower as the season moves onward. I intend to push myself further in college and as a senior than ever before.
