Basketball and cross country are two totally opposite sports. One works in as team, the other works as an individual. As a point guard, you always are watching the floor, watching the defense, watching your teammates. Trying to see the best option for the best outcome for the team. Cross country is looking forward- looking to make a quick sprint to get ahead, never looking behind. While they function so differently, they do have common threads like teamwork, accountability, and sacrifice.
I know the value of commitment and leadership and how important those values are not only to me, but to my team. Being a varsity basketball player and varsity cross country runner has given me the drive and determination to succeed. In both sports, I have always given my all, reaching for the win. Winning is great, but when that didn't happen, motivating my team to pick up and start again is just as important.
My goal is to find a program that will be a good fit academically as well athletically . I believe I not only have the talent and drive to compete for a college team, but the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact in women's basketball program.
