Personal Statement

Hello,

As it shows by my grades are not too presentable. At the time I didn't have any goals for colleges but I do now. My second year I struggled with classes such as French and was just trying to survive. Hope to bring my average up higher this coming year. In 2014-15 I did bring my average up which is 79.854 roughly 2.5 GPA without Physical Education classes. Of course I have to average all years for my final GPA. I am trying harder my Senior year at 92.7 at half year. Senior end of year GPA now 2.7 (82.03). Voted Midlakes High School Male Outstanding Senior Athlete Award.

My general hobbies consist of running, biking and talking with my friends on XBOX. I live in a country setting in upstate New York.

Some of my goals for sports are to become the best I can physically be. This will take much hard work and dedication: but with the proper mindset it will be accomplished.

High School Track Goals: Break Midlakes Screaming Eagles 110m Hurdle record of 15.2, 400mH of 58.3, 100m of 10.9,  200m of 22.8 and Pentathlon of 2928 (Broke School Record 2015 with 2971).  Broke our Indoor school record  2014-15 for the 55m and 55m hurdles.  My recent 2014-15 Indoor events are located in the Yentimng.com Indoor section-there are 2 seperate result link in yentiming for all years.. It is not combining all years for some reason. If the link works below you can check out my progress for all my Outdoor events or just cut and past in the search bar. http://www.yentiming.com/athlete/4250

College track goals are undetermined at this time.  Maybe All-Conference, a couple of your school records or DII/NAIA National Champion in one of my events. Help my potential team win a Championship or to the next level.

Have committed to wonderful NAIA D2 Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa starting in the Fall of 2016.

  • Camp/Event
  • USATF National Jr. Olympic Championship
  • 7/03/12 to 7/23/12
  • 2012 Jr. Olympic National Event. Collin just finished 8th grade and joined the Rochester Running Rebels summer track club program. His event at National was the Pentathlon and came in 10th overall. PR in the 100mH 15.55 and 1500M 5:15.98. High Jump was 5'-1' and the shot put and long jump fell short of his best. Was 32 points shy of 8th and All-American status for 12-13 year olds. Has been on Varsity Track team since 7th grade. Only had 1 month of coaching during that summer for the HJ, 1500M, LJ and Shot Put. Did run a few 110H races on Varsity team during 2012. 12-13 year old youth group was 100mH which he had a tough time at first going to a 100m height which is the same height as girl varsity High School hurdles. Went from a 7 step hop over hurdles to a 5 step and slowly adjusting his form to a correct glide over hurdles. He is fast enough presently but trying to get the coaching for a 3 step between hurdles. As he grows and gets stronger 3 step is his ultimate goal. Goals are high and he hopes to reach them soon.
  • Camp/Event
  • NFL Punt Pass & Kick Buffalo Bills Championship
  • 11/06/11 to 11/06/11
  • New York State Finals for the youth NFL Punt Pass and Kick Championships. Collin came in 2nd place in his age group of 12-13. Collin has strong legs due to his love of running which makes the kicking easier for him. Also he has a strong arm for his age. He threw 41 yards at 13 years old. Kick offs were about 40 yards as well. Punts pretty good for his age. Would need to learn other aspects of proper techniques if continued.
  • Camp/Event
  • Jim Kelly Football Camp
  • 6/26/11 to 6/30/11
  • NFL player Jim Kelly's Football camp that draws some of the area states top talents. Quality of campers are very good and helpful to advance in your football talents. Collin participated in the 12-14 year old group for running backs. Very good top quality camp ran at the Buffalo Bills stadium and facilities.

Training

  • General
  • 10 years
  • Collin started out at 7 years old and took Karate. Obtained his Black belt and then 1st degree Black Belt at 13. Was very much above kids his age and trained with the adults. Took the adult required test to receive his Black Belts. Spent several summers running in local 5K races and taking his age group 1st place. Collin has 5 Outdoor Track Varsity Letters, 2 Indoor Track Letters, 3 Varsity Cross Country, 2 Swimming and 1 Football Varsity Letter (13 total Varsity Letters). Has also participated in many summer track & football camps. We were granted the opportunity to Run Indoor Track (Collin and female teammate) this past year (2014-15) only as our school board has now set a policy to not allow any future teams of one or incomplete teams. Our school district has opted to not field any girls or boys Indoor team. Track and Field is Collin's passion.
  • More General
  • 2 years
  • Collin has 2 additional years of training with being a 3 sport Athlete and working his body year round to reach his individual goals. Continues to lift weights with moderate control for complete body toning. Eats well and I mean eats only what will help his body. Protein, fruits/vegetables, carbs when needed and drinks only water and lots of it.
