Coming from a lower-income family has always pushed me to place myself in the best position that I can be in for the future with a profitable career in the medical field and a path rich with personal goals and happiness. This drive has landed me in the top 5% of my class (2020), done by challenging myself with 10 AP courses along with honors and clubs such as Beta, Skills USA, and the Engineering Academy. Not only do I push myself in the classroom but also the Track. This is my second year of running, previously jumped, and I'm gunning to break school records, claiming the 500m and 400m state 2A title, and qualifying for New Balance Nationals in both events. Last year, with the guidance from my amazing three coaches, Brown, Sanchez, and Spruill, I made it to indoor/outdoor states for the 500m and 4x8 with my squad where we placed 2nd. But 2nd doesn't satisfy myself or the guys. Being the best of the best is what fuels me, and developing bonds with teammates is an even greater motivation. This year we're getting after it, landing my spot in collegiate Track&Field and becoming a part of a new family of runners, throwers, and jumpers is my main focus.
