For as long as I can remember sports have been a priority and outlet in my life. They have helped me maintain a focus in other aspects of my day-to-day interactions. I was diagnosed with ADHD at a young age and have worked to remain focused and overcome it. Every day in the classroom it takes a conscious effort, however, while competing in athletics my body helps my brain to be the best me, I can be. When I was younger, baseball, basketball and football were my favorites. In the last few years my attentions have moved more specifically to track and field and football. While I will remain on the school basketball team this season because of the bond I have created with my teammates and coaches over many years (youth, middle school and high school) I will also begin indoor track to work on improving my skills and ability more thoroughly.
Every day in each sport I participate in I work to be better than the day before. I work very closely with my coaches to take their advice and direction to improve with their guidance. I want to be the best I can for myself and my teammates in all I do. My wish is to continue athletics, specifically track and field (long jump and high jump) after graduation and throughout college. Sports have always helped me be who I am, and I am not ready to see that end after high school.
