Running has been a huge passion of mine for many years now. I started running AAU and Club in the fifth grade as something new to do. I went on to compete in the AAU Junior National Olympics in 2013 and qualified for the State Championships in the 800m in 2017 as a sophomore, finishing 16th. I worked hard to make it back to the State Championships as a junior, and improved to place 6th in the State. I broke the 35 year old school record at the Regionals, and lowered my own record a week later at the State Championships in finishing at 1:55.3. My goal for senior year is to win a State Championship in the 800m and again lower my school record. I take great pride in working hard everyday, being a leader for my team and learning new things as an athlete. I bring credible leadership and experience to any team that I am on and I believe that has paid off with winning several high school conference and district championships. While track and cross country are very important to me, I also know that academics come first. In college, I plan to study and earn a degree in either Political Science or Criminology. Athletically, I plan on doing whatever it takes to be competitive at the collegiate level. I will work hard each and every day and look forward to the guidance of a coaching staff that can help me reach my full potential. I want to be on a team where I can bring my leadership qualities and skills and have an impact from day one. I understand that collegiate sports are a huge commitment, but it is a commitment that I am ready and willing to make.
