I began cross country in the seventh grade hoping to find an activity that I enjoyed, I simply wanted to be decent and compete. It soon became evident that I was one of the worst at what I was doing; which is all I needed for the desire. The higher the margin of improvement, the more I wanted to be better, and the more I put in the work to be better. It was not an overnight process, I had to get my speed and endurance up in the off season. It took hard work to get to the varsity level on my cross country and track teams, and even more dedication to never miss a single practice. At all times I at least tell myself to never waste a workout, and always put my best effort both on and off race day. My drive to do better combined with my love for the sport of running have made me push my thoughts and desires of physical growth to the future, and that future is the collegiate field. I believe that hard work, no matter how strenuous, pays off. I put it into everything I do, this sport has given me the ability to apply work to both the arts I practice and my academics. A lot of people with running talents think of running in college as a way to stay fit or pay for their school, but the only reason I have is to become the best I can possibly be at what I do. Give me nothing but the sport itself, and I will give you my love, passion, dedication, and hard work in return. I believe that cross country and track are the best sports in the world, and it would be an honor to perform my abilities at the collegiate level.
