Being a three-year cross-country and track athlete has been one of the highlights of my high school career. Being able to lead the team my freshman year was a privilege and a unique experience. However, I feel I grew the most as a student-athlete my sophomore year when I was recovering from an injury and was unable to attain the goals I had set for myself that year. That experience helped me to grow personally and lead me to improve more as an encourager and leader for my teammates. Returning this year as a junior, I have felt stronger and faster than previous years and have been excited about my time's improvement at every race so far this year.
I am looking for a program athletically and academically that will also challenge me and assist me to run to my full potential. I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but also the character, work ethic, discipline, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program. While being an athletic scholar at the high school level, I also held a job and maintained leadership positions in school club organizations and events. Because of this, I believe I have the ability to carry a high level of responsibility and look forward to bringing a positive and dynamic presence to your team.
