My name is Thomas Burk, and I am a homeschool student from Edmond, OK, class of 2025. I am a 400- and 200-meter sprinter and consider the 400m to be my preferred event. I previously ran for OKC Storm. In November 2021 I started training with a private coach, competing unattached. My coach, Francois Boda, is an OBU Hall of Famer and a current member of Team USA Masters.
Three months into training, I ran a 60 second 400 meter at my first meet. Continuing to train, I was able to drop my time to 53 seconds, then closed out my season by setting a new PR in the 400m of 52 seconds (May 28, 2022). As of 2024, I completed my season running in the USATF Region 9 Junior Olympics Qualifier in which I ran a time of 51:35 seconds qualifying 5th for the finals (7/13/2024).
I am extremely coachable, and I am very focused on being the best student-athlete I can be. I am willing to do the hard work to be successful, and under the right program, I feel I can achieve my goals while also leaving a positive impact on your program. Please feel free to contact Coach Boda at [email protected]. He is willing to provide more information regarding my training, running style, and work ethic.
