Ever since I was in Elementary school I knew that I loved to run, and that is what inspired me to join the Track and Field team in grade four. While I wasn't very good at the time, I still very much enjoyed the sport and wanted to see where it would take me.
It was only during my grade 10 year of high school that I started to see progress. With some improvement to my running form and consistent training, I was able to shave off over a minute from some of my personal bests and consistently perform much better in my competitions that previously before.
Since then I have continued to train harder than ever, training around six times a week and sometimes running up to ninety kilometers a week. One of my strengths is that I firmly believe that with consistent training and a good work ethic you can achieve any goal in life that you set out to do. That is what motivates me to become the best I can in the sport and is one of the reasons why I am so passionate about it and train as hard as I do. Currently I am in the middle of my Cross Country season and am hoping to break the 22 minute barrier in the 6k and advance to OFSSA to compete against the best. Through Cross Country and Track and Field I have learned what it means to be part of a team and I love training three times a week with the team. I also have been involved with lots of extracurricular activities and have shown my involvement in the community by helping out with different festivals held in my community annually and helping out my old school with their Track and Field program.
My goal is to hopefully compete for a successful University Track and Field and Cross Country team so that I can further challenge myself athletically and academically. I have not yet decided what specific field of study I will be entering, but it will probably be something English or Science related as some of my other passions are writing and film making.
